Week 12 Reading Diary Continued: The Trusty Dog and His Master

For the second half of my reading I liked “A Trusty Dog andHis Master.” Even though it was a sad story, I like that it showed that sometimes when you act too fast your actions cannot be undone. Sometimes the consequences may not be as severe as  killing your own dog, but there are many bad consequences to acting before thinking or getting to the bottom of the real problem. For this story I would like to change it by putting it into a high school setting. I would have two girls who had been friends since they were little. They would do everything together and be pretty much inseparable. One day one of the girls would hear a rumor that someone started about her, and it would be something she thought only her best friend knew. She would be furious and storm the hallways looking for her supposed friend. Whens he eventually found her friend she would call her out for saying such a terrible thing about her, and fight back using some saved up secrets that her friend had told her. Everyone in the school would witness this huge blowup. After the girl is done yelling at her friend, her friend would tell her that she never started any rumor, and wouldn’t even think of doing what she had just done. After this all was over they would not be friends ever again, and the one who had spilled all the other’s secrets would find out that it was actually a different girl that had started the rumor about her.
